These people are highly racist! I went in and applied for assistance because everyone spoke so highly of them but they don't help white people! I completed the class they wanted me to do, met the case manager (who knew absolutely nothing) and was told I did not have all documents I needed. She handed me a list of needed documents:
Pay Stubs For 3 Months - Had Them
Current Notice - Had It
They gave me the run around as well
I literally came with EVERYTHING they had asked of me but because I am two shades too light, I was told I needed the documents I already had with me. I pointed out I had them with me and then she wanted other things like my previous employers pay-stubs, my food stamp benefit letters etc. which is honestly not even relevant. I am considering going back and requesting a different case manager cause this one has an issue with white people!
I had no issues with the staff at this facility, everyone I have ever encounter there the time I was there was very professional and cordial. The only Flaw I see within the system is not with the representatives working there, it the guidelines that are set up for certain assistance.
Having to be out of work for certain period of time to me is not really a help to some people. Majority of the people asking for help has come across unsuspecting/ series of unfortunately events out of their control and require help to get back on their feet. There are people out there that are consider the "Working Poor". Not everyone wants to be stuck relying on government assistance and unfortunately a system that was set up to aide people that requires help has to now perform a 3rd degree investigation due to the ones that abused the system.
